HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad: Youth are our true wealth and the pillar of development

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, affirmed that youth represent the Kingdom’s true wealth and the central pillar of development, given their energy and creativity.

HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his pride in the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and their remarkable achievements, made possible through the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country’s beloved monarch, and the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with the care and attention of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

On the occasion of International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, HH Shaikh Khalid noted that under the leadership of His Majesty the King, Bahrain has given youth its full support, empowering them and involving them in shaping the present and building the future. This has been achieved through a series of tangible programs and initiatives that have strengthened youth participation in all areas of national development.

He highlighted the “Youth City,” which offers over 100 diverse training programs designed to prepare a generation capable of contributing to sustainable development in the Kingdom, empowering young people, and fostering leadership in driving change. HH Shaikh Khalid described Youth City as a world-class model reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to developing youth across various fields.

HH Shaikh Khalid stressed that the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee place youth at the core of their strategies, in line with the vision of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad. Their efforts focus on enabling young people to achieve their ambitions through the development of the sports sector, producing champions and sports leaders who will raise Bahrain’s flag high at international events.

HH Shaikh Khalid extended his greetings to the youth of Bahrain and the world, wishing them continued success and prosperity as they carry forward their journey of dedication and excellence in serving their nations and elevating their standing.
