Southern Governor Leads 8th Security Committee Meeting to Enhance Public Safety

Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa chaired the eighth Security Committee meeting of 2025, bringing together local security officials to review ongoing safety measures in the governorate.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayat, Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director-General of Southern Governorate Police, and representatives from various Ministry of Interior departments.

HH Shaikh Khalifa welcomed the participants and highlighted the committee’s role in implementing the directives of Interior Minister Lt-General HH Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He emphasized the importance of meeting the needs of local residents, strengthening security, and maintaining stability in the Southern Governorate. He also praised the dedication and cooperation of the security teams in ensuring the safety of the community.

During the meeting, the governor expressed his gratitude—both personally and on behalf of the residents—to the Interior Minister for his recent visits and continued support for security initiatives in the area. He also noted the active efforts of the General Directorate of Traffic and other security departments in addressing safety requirements in public facilities, reinforcing community safety.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) presented an update on efforts to curb illegal labor practices in Riffa. A total of 149 security campaigns and 7,095 inspection visits were conducted to address violations by unregistered workers. HH Shaikh Khalifa commended the joint efforts of security teams and LMRA, stressing the importance of these campaigns in protecting society and maintaining social security.

The governor further highlighted the continuation of summer programs aimed at promoting security awareness in local youth centers. These initiatives encourage community service, instill the values of social partnership, and prepare young people to face future challenges.

The meeting concluded with security representatives praising HH Shaikh Khalifa’s commitment to implementing effective security and community initiatives, reflecting the governorate’s strong approach to community partnership and public safety.
