Bahrain Reaffirms Commitment to Human Rights and Anti-Trafficking Efforts
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to protecting freedoms and human rights under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing work to strengthen laws that safeguard the rights of both workers and employers, as part of its broader efforts to combat human trafficking and maintain a healthy work environment that benefits all citizens.
The Crown Prince shared these remarks during a meeting at Al Riffa Palace to mark World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Nibras Mohammed Talib, along with committee members.
Prince Salman praised the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders and the committee’s achievements, noting that the results were made possible by teamwork and shared commitment. He also encouraged continued efforts to enhance legislation, policies, and initiatives that strengthen Bahrain’s anti-trafficking framework.
Committee members and officials expressed their deep gratitude to the Crown Prince for his ongoing support. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Bahrain’s regional and international standing in labor protection and anti-trafficking initiatives, working toward the Kingdom’s national goals in this vital area.
