A sewer project worth BHD 1.76 million has begun in Saar’s Block 527, with the Ministry of Works confirming that construction is now in motion to connect 230 properties to the main network.
The work covers the northern section of the block and falls under the Government Programme for 2023 to 2026.
It includes the laying of over three kilometres of main sewer lines and nearly four kilometres of secondary pipes.
Teams will also build 135 main manholes, 344 smaller inspection chambers, and a pumping station.
The road surface across the site will be restored once the work is finished.
Aim
Engineer Fatima Jaafar Ahmed, who leads the Sanitary Planning and Projects Directorate, said the aim is to expand access to the service while keeping pace with the housing and building spread seen across the governorates.
Residents and visitors have been asked to take care near the worksite and follow any safety signs.
The Tender Board awarded the contract to Eastern Asphalt & Mixed Concrete Company.
