The University of Bahrain is expanding its postgraduate offerings with two new programmes aimed at bridging future skills gaps in both technology and mental health support.
A Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselling Psychology were announced by the university, both set to begin in the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
President of the University, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, said the AI master’s degree is designed for students from non-IT backgrounds who want to apply smart systems and data analytics to their fields. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical applications, reflecting a demand for cross-disciplinary upskilling.
Meeting
mental health needs The PhD in Counselling Psychology aims to train professionals in supervisory and therapeutic support roles, including family counselling, career guidance, digital platforms, and trauma cases. Students will study advanced models of supervision and apply them to complex psychological contexts.
Future-ready portfolio
UoB currently offers 49 postgraduate programmes, including 33 master’s and 13 doctoral tracks. Registration for the new academic year is open until August 14 through the university’s online portal.
