Bahrain Gears Up for Historic Youth Asian Games Under Royal Patronage

A wave of excitement is building in the Kingdom of Bahrain as preparations intensify for a landmark sporting event — the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to take place from October 22 to 31, 2025. The event, hosted for the first time on Bahraini soil, is held under the generous patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, a proud moment that reflects the Kingdom’s growing stature in the international sporting arena.

In a recent high-level meeting, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, chaired the fourth session of the Supreme Organising Committee overseeing the games.

During the meeting, His Highness reviewed a comprehensive progress report from the Executive Committee, highlighting key achievements in logistics, venue preparedness, and technical planning. The report also detailed the state-of-the-art equipment and technologies set to be deployed, ensuring Bahrain is fully equipped to deliver a seamless and memorable Games experience.

In a display of national unity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented an outline of its diplomatic strategy to boost regional participation and showcase Bahrain's welcoming spirit on the global stage. Their involvement underlines the collaborative approach being taken across government sectors to ensure the event’s success.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid emphasized that the royal patronage of the Games is both an honor and a responsibility, urging all parties to double down on efforts as the countdown continues. “Time is of the essence,” he noted, “but Bahrain’s determination, expert manpower, world-class infrastructure, and outstanding services provide all the right ingredients for success.”

Reaffirming the commitment of the Supreme Committee, His Highness pledged full support to the Executive Committee, calling for synergy between public and private sectors to elevate Bahrain’s global reputation as a host of major sporting events.
