Bahrain takes part in global space symposium

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Asiri, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), recently participated in the international symposium titled “Maximizing the Strategic Value of Space-Based Radar (SAR) Data”, hosted by NV5, a globally renowned leader in space technology.
The high-level event brought together leading experts and specialists in space and defense technologies to explore the latest advancements in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) applications.
Discussions focused on leveraging SAR data to bolster national defense and security systems.
In his address, Dr. Al Asiri underscored the strategic importance of remote sensing technologies in strengthening national security, noting that “data extracted from satellites equipped with SAR technology constitutes a fundamental pillar of modern monitoring and surveillance systems.”
Commitment
Dr. Al Asiri also highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to advancing its remote sensing capabilities, stating, “The Kingdom of Bahrain places special emphasis on developing its expertise in remote sensing, in line with efforts to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy and a national space sector capable of addressing national priorities.”
Participants at the symposium reviewed emerging technologies in SAR data processing and analysis, emphasizing their growing role in enhancing situational awareness and defense readiness.
