The National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by Chairman Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, recently participated in the Annual General Meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF). In addition, the NIHR took part in the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) meetings held in Switzerland.
During the APF meeting, several important matters were discussed, including the performance report for 2024, the setting of gender goals for national human rights institutions in the coming year, the approval of the financial report, and the confirmation of accreditation classifications for forum members for 2024.
Al Derazi also engaged in the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) Executive Committee Meeting. This session addressed critical issues related to the promotion and protection of human rights within the Arab region. The committee reviewed the network's activities and evaluated the progress of implementing its strategic plans.
