The Telugu Eco Warriors marked the first anniversary of their environmental initiative at Seef Beach, Bahrain, celebrating a year of dedicated efforts to clean the beaches and promote sustainability. The initiative was inspired by India's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a cleaner nation, with a small group of passionate volunteers beginning their mission in 2024.

Over the past year, the group has made significant strides, expanding their focus from beach clean-ups to broader environmental restoration activities. Every week, volunteers actively engage in waste removal, promote environmental responsibility, and encourage sustainable practices among Bahrain’s residents.

During the anniversary celebration, founder Kothapalli Rama Mohan expressed his gratitude to committee members and volunteers who have been key to the success of the initiative. Special recognition was given to Mr. Kotagiri Naveen Kumar and Captain Mahesh Meera for their pivotal roles in organizing the efforts.

“Our journey over the past year has been remarkable,” said Rama Mohan. “The dedication of our team members has been our greatest strength and has driven our mission forward.”

The event also acknowledged the support from various community members who provide refreshments after each clean-up session, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Inspired by the Clean Bahrain initiative, the Telugu Eco Warriors have aligned their efforts with other environmental movements across the country.

Looking ahead, the group aims to expand their impact through collaborations with more organizations. They encourage more individuals, including families and children, to join the cause and help foster a sense of social responsibility in the younger generation. The group also stressed the importance of reducing plastic waste and avoiding littering to maintain a cleaner and greener Bahrain.

The anniversary event was attended by key figures such as Raghunadha Babu, President of Telugu Desam Bahrain, and former presidents of Telugu Kala Samithi, who expressed their support and urged the Telugu community to get involved. The event was also supported by the Telangana Cultural Association Bahrain, Padmasali Sangham Bahrain, and other local groups.

The committee expressed their gratitude to those who helped organize the event, including Suresh Babu (ALBA) and the Pepsi team, who provided breakfast, water, juice, and sweets.

The Telugu Eco Warriors remain committed to their mission of making Bahrain cleaner, greener, and more sustainable. “Together, let’s build a cleaner and better Bahrain,” the committee declared, inviting all to join the movement.
