The National Action Charter remains a cornerstone of Bahrain’s development, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said yesterday, marking the 24th anniversary of its adoption.

During a meeting at Al Sakhir Palace with Shura and Parliament leaders, as well as senior officials, His Majesty highlighted the charter’s role in driving democratic and economic growth in line with the aspirations of the Bahraini people. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was present.

Among those in attendance were Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives; Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council; and Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation.

His Majesty praised the legislative authority’s efforts in advancing national development, safeguarding achievements, and protecting national interests. He also commended the judiciary’s role in upholding justice, equality, and fundamental rights and freedoms.

Underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between the executive and legislative branches, HM the King emphasized their shared role in serving the Kingdom and achieving its comprehensive development goals.

The officials extended their congratulations to His Majesty, lauding Bahrain’s achievements under his leadership. They also highlighted the Kingdom’s growing international stature, attributing its success to HM the King’s vision and policies.

Ministry of Education's Celebration

Separately, HM King Hamad and HRH Prince Salman participated in the Ministry of Education’s annual celebration marking the anniversary of the National Action Charter at the National Action Charter Monument in Sakhir. The event was also attended by senior members of the royal family.

On this occasion, HM said the celebrations reflect the values instilled through citizenship education. His Majesty commended the Ministry’s efforts in fostering national identity and strengthening a sense of belonging among students.

Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, highlighted the government’s commitment to education, underscoring its role in equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for innovation and professional success.

More than 3,000 students from public and private schools participated in the celebration, welcoming HM the King with chants. Students also performed three musical pieces produced by the Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, congratulations poured in for HM the King and HRH Prince Salman from all walks of life, hailing the reform project.

New Phase of Growth

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, stated that the charter’s endorsement marked the beginning of a new phase of growth, leading to the comprehensive development process under His Majesty’s leadership. It reinforced modernization and progress across all sectors, shaping the Kingdom’s bright future.

Issa Al Shaiji, Chairman of the Bahrain Journalists Association, emphasized that the National Action Charter represents a pioneering and advanced vision from His Majesty. This has contributed to building a modern and advanced Kingdom that achieves the hopes and aspirations of its people.

Solid Foundation

MPs and Shura Council members praised the National Action Charter as the solid foundation upon which the civilizational and developmental renaissance in Bahrain was built. They commended the reform project of His Majesty, noting that his leadership has transformed Bahrain into one of the most advanced countries in terms of democracy, rights, and reform.
