Saudi Arabia has officially stepped into the global winter sports spotlight. HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, received the Asian Winter Games flag during the closing ceremony of Harbin 2025 in China, marking the Kingdom’s official takeover as the next host.

In 2029, Neom will become the first city in West Asia to ever host the Asian Winter Games, proving that even in the heart of the desert, dreams of winter sports can become a reality.

Neom 2029: A Game-Changer for Winter Sports

Neom, Saudi Arabia’s ambitious futuristic city, is set to welcome athletes from across the continent to compete in a one-of-a-kind winter sports event in Trojena, a high-altitude area designed to offer world-class facilities.

Hosting the games is a massive milestone for the Kingdom, aligning with Vision 2030’s push to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for sports, tourism, and innovation.

From Formula 1 to boxing mega-fights, and the 2034 World Cup, Saudi Arabia has been making waves in the sports world. Now, winter sports are joining the mix, and the world is watching.
