Terry and his trophy cabinet
The defender posted a picture on Instagram on Thursday of his trophy cabinet, the latest addition of which is the Premier League title he led Chelsea to by playing every minute of every game in the 2014-15 season.
The 34-year-old Terry will no doubt be chomping at the bit to add to his collection when the season starts on August 8 against Swansea at Stamford Bridge.
All of Terry’s four Premier League trophies can be seen on display, as can a replica of the Champions League trophy, which Chelsea won in 2012 by beating Bayern Munich on penalties.
Terry famously did not appear in the final after accruing a red card for a foul on Alexis Sanchez in the semi-final against Barcelona.
But that did not stop the Chelsea skipper from donning a full kit and joining in the celebrations at the Allianz Arena.
His actions were mocked mercilessly, but Terry defended himself, telling the Daily Telegraph: ‘The biggest night ever for the club and I didn’t play in it. I felt a massive part of it, and the players made me feel a huge part of it. Along the way you look back at games, like the Napoli game [in the last 16] and other games along the way where you played a big part as well.’
Two League Cup trophies are also on show, the latest of which Terry won in 2014-15.
Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 in the final and Terry scored the opening goal.
Terry has been part of an FA Cup-winning team five times and a replica of the trophy for the oldest cup competition in the world is also on show.
In total, Terry has won 14 major honours with his boyhood club.
