UAE President Holds Talks With Netanyahu Amid Regional Tensions

Abu Dhabi: UAE President Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as part of an unscheduled visit, the UAE's national news agency WAM said on Monday.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Israel, as well as ways to strengthen and expand those ties. Netanyahu's office stated that the visit was done at the UAE president's invitation and focused on ties and regional challenges.
According to three senior Israeli officials quoted by sources, the meeting lasted approximately six hours and focused on Iran. The visit takes place amid rising regional tensions and intensified scrutiny of UAE-Israel relations.
The meeting comes after recent reports claimed that Sheik Mohamed warned Netanyahu of the upcoming Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Netanyahu has refuted the allegations, and the UAE has not confirmed the claimed warning.
The UAE and Israel established diplomatic relations as part of the 2020 Abraham Accords, which opened formal channels for political, economic, and security cooperation.
