Two killed after truck falls off Oman bridge
Muscat: A truck dashed against the fence of a bridge near Al Hamriya roundabout and fell down resulting in the death of two persons on Saturday, the police said.
"The Omani truck driver and an expatriate working on the road under the bridge died in the accident. The truck fell on the worker. One person has been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries," the police added.
The truck belongs to a food and water distribution company. The accident caused traffic jam on the Ruwi main road.
Eyewitness said that the vehicle lost control and fell from the flyover in Hamriya at around 12 noon. Both, the Omani national, who was working with the company on daily wages, and the Bangladeshi national sustained serious injuries. They were declared brought dead by doctors in the hospital. Another victim, who sustained injuries, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
