Putin, Trump and Xi Discuss Possible Trilateral Summit in November

Moscow, Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have discussed holding a trilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November, the Kremlin confirmed Wednesday. 

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the potential three-way talks were discussed during a phone call between the two leaders on Tuesday.

The APEC summit is scheduled to take place in the Chinese city of Shenzhen between November 18 and 19. Russia has indicated that Putin will attend the summit, although the White House has not yet officially announced whether Trump will be present.

 Peskov noted that such a potential gathering had been raised before and that the event offers an opportunity for the meeting.

The discussions come amid ongoing diplomatic maneuvering as Washington pushes Russia for an end to the war in Ukraine. US envoys visited both Moscow and Kyiv last week, though they did not announce any breakthrough in talks to end the conflict.
