Washington DC: The United States stated on Thursday that European nations must closely cooperate with Washington regarding critical fuel supply issues.

This urgent diplomatic appeal follows reports that President Donald Trump's administration recently urged European Union governments to release their diesel reserves to ease soaring prices.

A US official told AFP that partnership is essential, stating it is in Europe's best interest to work with the United States.

Such collaboration enables both regions to pursue multiple pathways to boost the supply of refined products and lower consumer costs.
