Kushner, Sisi Discuss Gaza Ceasefire Implementation
US President Donald Trump’s envoy and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday on efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
The meeting took place in the Mediterranean city of El-Alamein, where both sides stressed the importance of all parties fulfilling their obligations under the ceasefire agreement, according to Egyptian presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy.
The discussions come as Egypt continues its mediation efforts aimed at maintaining the Gaza truce and advancing the next steps of the agreement. A senior Hamas delegation also held talks in Cairo on Sunday with Egypt’s General Intelligence Service chief Hassan Rashad regarding the ceasefire.
Kushner is expected to continue meetings with regional mediators as Washington seeks to advance its Gaza peace initiative and support the implementation of the ceasefire arrangements
