Syrian opposition arrives in Geneva for peace talks
A delegation representing Syria's main opposition umbrella group arrived in Switzerland on Saturday to attend UN-mediated peace talks aimed at ending the five-year-old conflict, a spokesman for the body told AFP.
The High Negotiations Committee (HNC) grudgingly agreed only late on Friday to travel to Geneva, insisting they want to see progress on securing humanitarian aid before engaging in formal negotiations with the Assad regime.
