Drone Strike Hits Kuwait-Iraq Border Crossing, Causing Material Damage

Abdali crossing temporarily closed after attack as Kuwaiti forces secure site

A drone attack targeted Kuwait’s Abdali border crossing with Iraq on Thursday, causing material damage but no casualties, the Kuwaiti Army said.

Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense spokesperson Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the border facility was struck around noon by “hostile drones.”

He added that specialised teams immediately responded to the incident, securing the area and coordinating with relevant authorities to assess the damage and ensure public safety.

Inspection and explosive ordnance disposal teams from the Kuwaiti Land Force examined the site, removed drone debris and confirmed that the area was clear of any further threats.

The incident comes amid rising regional tensions, with several Gulf countries facing increased security concerns linked to ongoing exchanges of missile and drone attacks in the region.
