Marvel Returns As San Diego Comic-Con Opens Today

CALIFORNIA: Marvel is returning to San Diego Comic-Con after skipping last year's event, bringing renewed excitement to one of the world's biggest pop culture conventions. Fans are eagerly awaiting the studio's Hall H presentation, where ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will take centre stage ahead of its scheduled December release.
Directed by the Russo brothers, the film continues the story following 2019's ‘Endgame’ and unites characters from the Avengers, X-Men, Black Panther and Fantastic Four. Marvel is also expected to build on last year's surprise announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Doctor Doom.
The convention will also feature DC Studios' preview of HBO's ‘Lanterns,’ while Apple TV is expected to showcase upcoming projects including ‘Mayday’ and ‘Matchbox: The Movie.’ Fans will also get a first look at ‘Spaceballs: The New One.’
Running through Sunday, Comic-Con continues to bring together thousands of fans, creators and studios for exclusive announcements, celebrity appearances and celebrations of iconic franchises.
