MOSCOW: Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 269 Ukrainian drones targeting multiple regions and the Black Sea. The massive aerial assault resulted in casualties in Crimea, where regional leader Sergey Aksyonov confirmed two deaths, including a child, and two injuries.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized across numerous territories, including the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov, and Moscow regions. The falling debris caused significant infrastructure damage, most notably sparking a fire at the Poltavskaya oil depot in the Krasnodar Region.

Additional debris ignited a separate fire at an industrial facility in Abinsk, which emergency teams successfully extinguished without further casualties.

These widespread attacks represent a significant escalation in the conflict, prompting regional authorities to coordinate emergency responses while urging citizens to rely exclusively on official sources for safety updates.
