Ankara: Türkiye's Customs officials have seized a massive shipment of illegal narcotics valued at over 3 billion liras, which is approximately $65 million. Acting on a targeted anti-drug trafficking operation, authorities intercepted and confiscated more than one ton of banned substances. The major bust took place at the Ipsala border crossing, located in the Edirne province along Türkiye's border.
The illicit cargo was uncovered by enforcement officers during a detailed inspection of a transport vehicle. According to official reports, the narcotics were carefully concealed inside a truck as smugglers attempted to transport the substances out of the country. This significant seizure marks a substantial blow to regional drug trafficking networks operating across the border.
