Seoul: Former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has received a 30-year prison sentence following his conviction for sending covert military drones into North Korea. The landmark ruling concludes a highly sensitive legal battle over cross-border provocations that severely threatened regional stability.

According to the judicial findings, Yoon bypassed official protocols to personally order the drone incursions into sovereign North Korean territory. The court ruled that these unauthorized actions constituted a grave abuse of power and directly aided the enemy by exposing confidential state military capabilities when the aircraft were compromised.

This 30-year sentence marks a complete political collapse for the former conservative leader, as it is added directly on top of the life imprisonment term he is already serving for a separate failed insurrection.
