First Etihad Rail Passenger Station Completed in Fujairah

Etihad Rail has completed its first passenger station in Fujairah, marking a major milestone as the UAE moves closer to launching nationwide passenger rail services.

The Fujairah station is the first completed stop among the network’s planned passenger stations and forms part of the phased rollout of Etihad Rail’s passenger operations across the country.

Additional stations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s Madinat Zayed are also in the final stages of preparation ahead of future operations.

Located in Al Hilal City, the Fujairah station has been strategically positioned near key residential and economic areas, including Fujairah Port and the Fujairah Free Zone. The station is also close to major attractions and Fujairah International Airport, enhancing regional connectivity and tourism access.

Etihad Rail said trains on the network are expected to operate at speeds of up to 200 km/h, significantly reducing travel times between emirates and offering a safer, more efficient alternative to road transport.

The company is also studying future expansion opportunities for the network as part of long-term plans to strengthen national connectivity and support the UAE’s development goals.

The passenger rail project is expected to transform travel across the UAE by linking major cities and communities through a modern high-speed transport system.
