Syrian President Holds Talks with UAE Leadership in Dubai

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa met UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in Dubai on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, during the 2026 Arab Media Summit. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani attended the meeting.
Al-Sharaa also met Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Dubai's second deputy ruler and chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Speaking at the summit's "Syria of the Future" session, Al-Sharaa outlined Syria's reconstruction efforts, economic prospects and priorities for regional stability. He said Syria was rebuilding its institutions after decades of administrative corruption and poor planning, while seeking to draw on available expertise.
Al-Sharaa also highlighted support from Arab and Muslim countries following the fall of Bashar Assad's government in late 2024, saying it had created a strong sense of pride among Syrians.
