Texas: A sudden power outage at Six Flags Over Texas stranded dozens of theme park guests high in the air Saturday, forcing terrifying evacuations down towering rollercoasters.

The blackout occurred after an external construction crew accidentally struck an underground power line, cutting electricity across the entire property.

The outage immediately froze several active attractions, including the park’s tallest ride, The Titan. Passengers on the 245-foot-tall coaster were left trapped upright at the peak of the massive lift hill.

With mechanical systems entirely down, park staff had to manually release the safety restraints. Employees then escorted the stranded riders down the narrow, windy emergency maintenance stairs running along the side of the steel structure.

Viral social media footage captured families and children slowly navigating the steep drop back to the ground. Park officials confirmed that all guests were successfully evacuated without injury and that visitors were provided with complimentary tickets for a future visit.
