UAE Intercepts Missiles and Drones in Air Defence Operations
The United Arab Emirates’ air defence systems are currently intercepting missile and drone attacks originating from Iran, according to the Ministry of Defence.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that sounds heard in several parts of the country were the result of active air defence operations engaging ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Authorities said UAE defence systems remain fully operational and are responding in real time to aerial threats targeting the country.
The Ministry of Defence added that the noises reported by residents were linked to interception activities carried out by air defence units as they continue to neutralise incoming projectiles.
No further details on potential damage or casualties were immediately provided.
