RIYADH: French energy giant TotalEnergies has announced the reopening of its Satorp refinery in Saudi Arabia following a temporary closure caused by regional conflict. The facility was shut down as a safety precaution after airstrikes on April 8 damaged three of its units.
By April 14, the company successfully restarted the undamaged units, bringing the refinery back to an operating capacity of 230,000 barrels per day. Located in Saudi Arabia, the Satorp site is a joint venture, with Saudi Aramco holding a 62.5% stake and TotalEnergies owning the remaining 37.5%.
This restoration of operations marks a key recovery milestone for the facility after the disruptions caused by the Middle East war.
