Ukraine Slams Israel Over ‘Stolen’ Grain From Russian-Held Areas

Kyiv: Volodymyr Zelenskyy has strongly criticised Israel over shipments of grain that Ukraine says were taken by Russia from occupied territories.

Kyiv claims that Russia has been exporting grain seized from Ukrainian farmland since the start of the war, and that some of these shipments have reached Israeli ports. Ukraine says such trade is illegal and cannot be considered legitimate business.

Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine is preparing sanctions against individuals and companies involved in transporting or profiting from the grain. He also suggested that Israeli authorities should be aware of the origin of these shipments.

The issue has added strain to relations between Ukraine and Israel, with Kyiv urging Israel to respect its sovereignty and avoid actions that could damage ties. Meanwhile, Israel has pushed back, saying there is no clear evidence to support the claims.

The dispute highlights the wider tensions caused by Russia’s control over parts of Ukraine, including its agricultural regions, and the ongoing impact of the war on global food supplies.
