Trump Says US Seized Iranian Ship in Gulf of Oman
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that a US Navy destroyer fired on and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly attempted to evade a US naval blockade.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed the vessel ignored repeated warnings to stop before the destroyer “blowed a hole in the engine room” to disable it.
He added that US Marines had taken custody of the ship following the incident. No further official confirmation or details from the US Navy or Iranian authorities were immediately available.
