TEHRAN: A social media post by Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, regarding the arrival of the Iranian delegation for high-stakes talks with the U.S. was abruptly deleted late Thursday. The post had initially confirmed that a high-level team from Tehran had will land in the Pakistani capital ahead of Friday's scheduled negotiations.

The deletion has sparked intense speculation among diplomatic circles in Islamabad. While no official reason was provided by the Iranian Embassy, observers suggest the move may be linked to strict security protocols or a last-minute adjustment in the delegation’s public itinerary.

The ‘Islamabad Talks,’ brokered by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, are set to be the first face-to-face encounter between U.S. and Iranian officials since the outbreak of regional hostilities in February.

The atmosphere in the capital remains incredibly tense as both the U.S. and Iranian delegations arrive under heavy security. The Pakistani government has already declared a two-day public holiday to facilitate the logistics of the summit. This social media "retraction" highlights the sensitive nature of the diplomatic mission, where every public statement is being scrutinized for its impact on the fragile 14-day ceasefire.

Despite the digital backtrack, official sources in Islamabad confirm that preparations for the Friday morning session are proceeding as planned. The talks are expected to focus on a 10-point peace proposal, including maritime security and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
