Amsterdam:The Netherlands has said it has no immediate plans to bar rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, from entering the country, even after the United Kingdom denied him entry over past antisemitic remarks.
Dutch Asylum and Migration Minister Bart van den Brink stated on Wednesday that an entry ban can only be imposed if there is a clear threat to public order or national security.
“Once I have such information, I will proceed accordingly. Based on what is currently known to me, I have no indication that an entry ban can be applied in this case,” the minister said in a statement to AFP.
West is scheduled to perform in the Netherlands on June 6 and 8.
Meanwhile, the UK government has refused him entry, prompting organisers to cancel a festival he was set to headline in July. A government source confirmed that his visa application was rejected on the grounds that his presence would not be conducive to the public good.
The rapper, who last performed in the UK at the Glastonbury Festival in 2015, has faced widespread criticism for antisemitic comments and statements expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler.
In May 2025, he released a song titled “Heil Hitler,” months after promoting a swastika-themed T-shirt on his website.
