Qatar Urges Protection of Diplomatic Missions After Basra Incident

Doha :Qatar has strongly condemned the storming of Kuwait’s Consulate General in Basra, calling it a serious violation of diplomatic norms and international law.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the breach of the consulate and the violation of its sanctity, stressing that such acts contravene the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which ensures the protection of diplomatic missions.
The ministry emphasized that safeguarding diplomatic premises and personnel is a fundamental obligation, while reaffirming Qatar’s full solidarity with Kuwait.
It also called for all necessary measures to ensure the safety of diplomatic missions and prevent similar incidents in the future.
