Iran Defends Strikes on Gulf Cities, Say "America's fault"

Tehran: Iran has blamed the United States for strikes that have hit urban areas in Gulf cities, saying American military positioning is responsible for the fallout of its attacks.
Speaking in an interview, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had targeted locations where U.S. forces were present, including sites outside formal military bases. He argued that the proximity of such locations to civilian areas was due to U.S. decisions to move personnel into urban settings.
Araghchi maintained that Iran’s operations were directed at military targets, echoing earlier remarks by Iran’s envoy in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, who said Tehran “exclusively targets military bases” and not civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries.
The foreign minister also ruled out the possibility of a ceasefire with the United States and Israel, stating that Iran’s objective is a complete end to the conflict across all fronts rather than a temporary halt in hostilities.
Addressing concerns over global energy routes, Araghchi said new rules should be established for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz after the war. He also downplayed the impact of the reported killing of senior official Ali Larijani, saying Iran’s political system remains stable despite individual losses.
