Iran Intelligence Ministry confiscate 'hundreds of Starlink devices'

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced it has confiscated hundreds of Starlink internet receivers that were allegedly smuggled into the country by the United States and Israel. In a statement published by the Tasnim news agency, the ministry claimed that the "American-Zionist enemy" sent the terminals into Iran to facilitate illicit activity.

Officials further noted that the locations of these satellite systems were identified through state surveillance and that the "criminal activity" of those using them was being closely monitored. The Elon Musk-owned satellite network remains officially banned in Iran, though many citizens have risked arrest by using the technology to bypass government-imposed internet blackouts and censorship.

This seizure follows recent U.S. media reports indicating that the State Department purchased at least 7,000 Starlink terminals specifically to be sent into Iran to support connectivity during widespread anti-regime protests. As the Iranian government tightens its grip on digital communications, the discovery of these devices highlights an escalating technological battle between Tehran and Western powers.
