France Faces MICA Missile Shortage Amid Rafale Operations Over UAE

Paris: France is reportedly facing a shortage of MICA air-to-air missiles as its Dassault Rafale aircraft continue to intercept Iranian drones over the United Arab Emirates, according to French media reports.

The sustained pace of operations has significantly depleted available missile stocks, raising concerns within defence circles, French weekly La Tribune reported.

The development has sparked discussions in Paris over how to balance ongoing military engagements with the need to maintain long-term operational readiness.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran, triggering a broader regional conflict.

Iran has since responded with waves of drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and several Gulf countries hosting US military assets. The strikes have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure and disrupted global markets as well as aviation routes.

The ongoing hostilities continue to strain military resources and heighten security concerns across the region.
