The Royal Court has confirmed that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has been successfully discharged from the King Faisal Specialist Hospital. The 90-year-old monarch was admitted early Friday morning to undergo a series of routine medical examinations aimed at monitoring his overall health. According to a statement released by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the results of these tests were "reassuring," and the King returned to his residence shortly after their completion.
While the international community closely monitors the health of the ruler of the world’s largest oil-exporting nation, the Royal Court emphasised that this visit was consistent with the King's periodic healthcare schedule. King Salman, who has navigated several health challenges in recent years, including treatment for lung inflammation in 2024 and a pacemaker battery change in 2022, has maintained a steady presence in governance. Just days before this checkup, he was seen chairing a virtual cabinet meeting, signalling his continued involvement in the Kingdom's strategic and administrative affairs.
