Diana Unheard’ featuring rare Princess Diana recordings set for international launch

Diana Unheard, a new three-part documentary series featuring previously unheard audio recordings of Princess Diana, is set for an international launch.

According to Deadline, distribution rights for the series have been acquired by Cineflix, which is preparing to launch the documentary at MIPCOM in Cannes.

Produced by UK independent company Love Monday TV, the series explores Diana's life, relationships and experiences within the royal family through secretly recorded conversations she had with her friend James Colthurst in 1991.

The recordings were also used by author Andrew Morton in his book Diana: Her True Story. Love Monday TV worked with Morton and Colthurst to secure access to the tapes for the documentary.

According to Deadline, Diana speaks candidly in the recordings about then-Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Prince Andrew.

The documentary aims to present Diana from a perspective that goes beyond the familiar portrayal of her as a victim of circumstances.

"In making Diana Unheard, we wanted to challenge the narrative that has too often portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales, simply as a victim of her circumstances," said Kerena Barefield, Creative Director at Love Monday TV.

The series is scheduled for an international launch, with further details expected at MIPCOM in Cannes.
