G-SHOCK Launches AI-Designed Full-Metal 5000 Series Watch
G-SHOCK has unveiled the new GMW-BZ5000RC-1, a redesigned version of its iconic 5000 series that combines AI-assisted engineering with advanced Japanese craftsmanship.
Launched in Dubai, the new full-metal timepiece reinterprets the classic square silhouette first introduced with the original DW-5000C in 1983.
The new model features a gradient rainbow ion-plated finish inspired by future energy concepts, with each watch designed to carry a unique appearance due to the individual application process.
According to Casio, the watch was developed through a co-creative process between human designers and artificial intelligence, using more than four decades of G-SHOCK shock-resistance data to optimise the structure and design.
The timepiece includes a newly developed bezel-to-case structure that highlights the metal centre case while maintaining the durability associated with the G-SHOCK brand.
Manufactured at Yamagata Casio in Japan, the watch features a shock-resistant full-metal exterior supported by an internal resin protector designed to absorb impact.
The GMW-BZ5000RC-1 also includes Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, Multi Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping and a high-definition MIP LCD display for improved readability.
Users can customise the display through a connected app, including switching between modern and classic digital font styles.
G-SHOCK said the launch reflects the brand’s continued evolution from a toughness-focused watch into a global cultural icon associated with fashion, music, design and street culture.
The new model is now available through selected G-SHOCK retailers and online across the Middle East and Africa.
