E10 Championship to Make Swedish Debut at Historic Kanonloppet
Young electric kart racers set to compete at Sweden's iconic Gelleråsen Arena this August
The E10 Championship will make its Swedish debut this August as part of the legendary Kanonloppet at Gelleråsen Arena, marking a significant milestone for electric karting in Scandinavia.
The championship will see young drivers aged 10 to 13 compete in a dedicated E10 race during the prestigious race weekend from August 13 to 15, introducing the next generation of electric motorsport talent at Sweden's oldest permanent racing circuit.
Kanonloppet, one of Sweden's most celebrated motorsport events since the 1950s, attracts thousands of spectators each year and features some of Scandinavia's top racing series. The event is held at the historic Gelleråsen Arena and is renowned for blending motorsport tradition with high-level competition.
This year's programme includes the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, V8 Thundercars, Valeryd Legends Cup, Pro Superbike, and the Swedish Rotax MAX Challenge. Prince Carl Philip is also expected to return to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup, continuing his long-standing involvement in Swedish motorsport.
The E10 Championship is designed as an accessible entry point into competitive electric karting. Drivers will race using their own kart chassis fitted with the standard E10 electric power package, ensuring equal performance while allowing competitors to use familiar equipment.
The Swedish E10 Championship will consist of two rounds, with the opening event taking place during Kanonloppet in August and the second round scheduled for September 26-27, also at Gelleråsen Arena.
The overall champion will earn a coveted place at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in the E10 Mini category, giving the winner an opportunity to represent Sweden on the international stage.
Organisers said registration details, sporting regulations, race formats and additional information for the championship will be released in the coming weeks.
Developed by Austrian manufacturer BRP-Rotax, the E10 Championship forms part of the company's growing commitment to sustainable motorsport. BRP-Rotax is a global leader in propulsion systems and has pioneered alternative drive technologies through its electric karting platforms and other electric powersports vehicles.
