Bahrain Handball League Semi-Finals Confirmed

The Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) has confirmed the full schedule for the Golden Square semi-finals of the 2025–26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League, with the best-of-three series is set to begin later this month.
The semi-finals feature the league’s top four sides: top-seeded reigning champions Al Najma face fourth-placed Barbar, while second-placed Al Shabab meet third-placed Al Ahli in two highly competitive ties.
Al Najma finished the regular season atop the table with 56 points (17 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss), while Barbar secured fourth place with 46 points (13 wins, 7 losses). Al Shabab ended the campaign in second with 55 points (17 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses), narrowly ahead of Al Ahli, who finished third with 54 points (17 wins, 3 losses).
The series opens on Tuesday, May 26, with Al Najma vs Barbar at 5:30pm, followed by Al Ahli vs Al Shabab at 7:30pm.
Game 2 will take place on Thursday, May 28, with the fixtures reversed: Al Ahli vs Al Shabab at 5:30pm, and Al Najma vs Barbar at 7:30pm.
If a third game is required, it will follow the same order of fixtures. Each match will take place at Khalifa Sports City.
All four teams arrive in strong form. Barbar enter the semi-finals after a convincing 41–28 win over Bahrain Club. Al Ahli boosted their momentum with a statement 30–29 victory over Al Najma, handing the league leaders their only defeat of the season. Al Shabab also impressed with a dominant 44–23 win over Al Ettifaq.
The semi-finals will be played in a best-of-three format, with the winners advancing to a single-match final to decide the 2025–26 championship.
