Bahrain signs Khalifa Sports City deal

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, witnessed the signing of a naming rights sponsorship agreement for Khalifa Sports City between the General Sports Authority and National Bank of Bahrain, in a move aimed at enhancing the kingdom’s sports infrastructure.
The agreement was signed by General Sports Authority chief executive Abdulrahman Askar and Usman Ahmed, Group Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Bahrain, in the presence of senior officials.
HH Shaikh Khalid said the deal reflects growing cooperation between the sports sector and private institutions, adding that naming rights sponsorships play a key role in improving the sustainability and development of sports facilities in line with international standards.
He praised the partnership with the National Bank of Bahrain, noting that it supports the advancement of sports venues and strengthens Bahrain’s position as a destination for regional and international events.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to develop Khalifa Sports City as a major hub for sporting activities, while opening new opportunities for investment and improving facility management across the sector.
