Mohamed Sultan Faraj emerged as the winner of the OFMC Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club, capping a closely fought day of golf with a best score of 38 points.

While international stars were in action at the Bahrain Championship at the Royal Golf Club, Awali’s leading players battled for honours in a contest where fine margins proved decisive.

Faraj’s round included a gross 72, the lowest of the day, underscoring his consistency and control under pressure. The tournament was sponsored by the OFMC, one of Awali Golf Club’s longest-established social groups, staging its second full club competition with a wide prize pool.

The event also welcomed guests from the Royal Navy, who played the course for the first time and joined members at the prize presentation.

Prizes were presented by club captain Steve Newall, tournament director Nathan Sundaresan and OFMC president Nick Davis, with Mohamed Al Zayed finishing runner-up on 37 points after countback in a tightly packed leaderboard.
