$3.7 billion invested in industrial zones

The total registered investments in Bahrain’s seven industrial zones have reached $3.7 billion. This was revealed by the Commerce and Industry Minister, His Excellency Abdullah Fakhro, as he addressed an inquiry submitted by Shura Council member Khalid Al Maskati.
The Minister said the zones currently house 851 industrial plots, 91% of which are leased. Only 9% of the total area remains available.
The zones cover a total of 14.5 million square metres spread across three governorates, namely the Southern Governorate, the Capital Governorate and the Northern Governorate.
