Bahrain takes part in GCC tourism meeting

The Minister of Tourism, Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi participated in the eighth meeting of the Ministers responsible for Tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, hosted by the State of Qatar.
The Minister noted the significance of this meeting and the opportunities it presents for exchanging insights and devising innovative solutions to advance the Gulf tourism industry. She highlighted the potential to leverage collective experiences by enhancing joint marketing efforts to increase tourism’s contribution to the GDP.
Al Sairafi highlighted the latest achievements and initiatives in the national tourism sector, including the selection of Manama as the capital of Gulf tourism for 2024, adding that the Kingdom has made all necessary preparations to celebrate this occasion.
She also noted the significant achievement of Exhibition World Bahrain being acknowledged as the “Best New Exhibition and Convention Center in the World 2023,” as a transformative milestone for the Kingdom in expanding its exhibitions and conferences sector on the regional and global levels.
The Minister also discussed opportunities for collaboration in enhancing infrastructure and elevating tourism services for visitors, providing training and professional development for tourism professionals, and advocated for the implementation of joint tourism activities, programs, and packages to boost Gulf tourism growth.
