The accident and emergency building at the Salmaniya Medical Complex is poised for yet another facelift to make it more welcoming and safer for patients.

According to the Government Hospitals Department, this renovation project is centred on a comprehensive facelift for the exterior appearance of the unit.

In a statement, the department said the renovation aims to ensure a welcoming and secure environment for “our patients, their families, and our dedicated staff.”

The plan aims to complete this renovation within six months. It’s worth mentioning that in January of this year, the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, inaugurated the expanded Accident and Emergency Department.

This expansion entailed an increase in bed capacity from 80 to 120 beds, the incorporation of 7 consultation rooms, 15 recovery rooms, five classification rooms, and three treatment rooms, along with a dedicated unit for children and a waiting area accommodating up to 120 people.

To participate in the current tender, interested parties should submit their bids by November 22, 2023, along with a BD4,000 bond, which will remain valid for 180 days.

In addition to this project, another tender initiated by the government hospitals reveals that Salmaniya Medical Complex also plans to renovate its NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) ward 307.

This renovation will encompass the replacement of the unit’s false ceiling, doors, nurse station, storage, and other related tasks.

The deadline for accepting bids for this NICU renovation project is November 29, 2023, with interested parties expected to submit their bids accompanied by a BD2500 bond valid for 180 days.
