HRH Prince Salman inaugurates Bahrain Defence Force Hospital’s RMS Clinics building

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, commended the Bahrain Defence Force’s ongoing development, and its wide-ranging efforts in safeguarding the Kingdom and its citizens as well as its commitment to protecting national achievements and interests.

This came as HRH Prince Salman, along with His Highness Lieutenant Commander Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, yesterday inaugurated the BDF Hospital’s Royal Medical Services (RMS) Clinics building.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the BDF’s RMS longstanding role in providing quality healthcare services to citizens, noting the efforts of administrative staff and medical professionals in contributing to the advancement of the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.

He unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the inauguration of the RMS Clinics, and was presented with a souvenir by the Commander of the RMS, Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, on this occasion.

His Royal Highness toured the premises, and was briefed on the RMS’s departments, units and medical practices. The Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces met with a group of consultant doctors, medical professionals and executive supervisors within the BDF as well as a number of participants that have contributed to the implementation of the project.

The RMS Clinics building spans over an area of 51,000 square metres. The new building has 6 floors consisting of 14 consultation clinics, primary healthcare clinics, and the Banoon ART and Cytogenetics Centre for assisted reproductive technology as well as, 265 consultation rooms, 3 pharmacies, 8 specimen collection rooms and a number of x-ray rooms.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was received by the Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, HE Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Defence Affairs, HE Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, BDF Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Commander of the RMS, and a number of senior BDF officers.

Commitment

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing the quality of medical services provided to citizens and residents, in line with Bahrain’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

His Royal Highness noted the important role public-private partnerships play in strengthening the sustainability of healthcare services delivered to citizens and promoting a healthy well-being.

Gratitude

The RMS Commander delivered a speech to commemorate the new the inauguration of the new RMS building.

In his address, he expressed his gratitude for His Royal Highness’s inauguration of the medical premises, which coincides with the fifty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Bahrain Defence Force.

Major- General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali further gave a brief on RMS’s achievements over the years, including many prestigious international accreditations obtained by the RMS, and the newly inaugurated building which features the latest technology in medical equipment. A number of senior officials also attended the inauguration.
