Man gets 5-yrs in prison for attacking policeman
The High Criminal Court sentenced a 23-year-old person to 5 years behind bars for injuring a cop and crashing his vehicle into a police patrol.
The accused was reportedly driving his sports car in Duraz when police officers in a patrol requested him to halt as his car was making a loud annoying noise.
The accused, however, accelerated and later slammed his car into the police patrol that followed him.
He then tried to escape on foot but was nabbed by an officer. In the struggle, the accused also allegedly attacked the officer.
The accused later claimed he did not stop the car because he was afraid if they would arrest him. He was fined BD250 for the damages caused to the patrol.
