Rotary Club of Salmaniya launches “Helping Hands” fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Salmaniya announced launching a new fundraising scheme “Helping Hands”, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year. The club said it would dedicate its works this year to support those who have been substantially and negatively affected by the pandemic.

Helping Hands project, the club said, has initiatives to support the community, youth and environment. Home renovations, food boxes and virtual vocational training seminars are part of the community support initiatives.


Other sections include virtual leadership training sessions for high-school students, programmes for autistic and down syndrome community, greenhouse project, children’s Gergaoon night, reef rehabilitation, beach clean-up and others.

The club said it welcomes sponsorship for its programmes during the Rotary year of 2021 -22.

The club said it helped over 1,000 families impacted by the pandemic during the past year and distributed 400 food boxes, 600 Friday lunches and 630 Ramadan food parcels.
