HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the support for the Arabian horse show championships stems from the historical legacy supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Nasser directed BREEF to organize the seventh local Arabian breed show championship and the first horses of Egyptian breed championship.

The two championships will be held on January 28-30 under the patronage of BREEF President HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa at the Bahrain Sports Military Association’s ground at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club.

"We have directed BREEF to intensify efforts to achieve our goals in organizing various horse show championships for the purebred Arabian horses that are among the most important and ancient sports and are mainly related to continuing to preserve the values and authenticity of this sport and to boost Bahrain's status in local breeding," HH Shaikh Nasser said.

"Bahrain is one of the largest strongholds of purebred Arabian horses, and the name and history of Bahrain have been associated with purebred Arabian horses since ancient times until the present time. It is our duty to preserve this heritage in accordance with the directives of His Majesty the King to take special care of Arabian horses as they represent an important aspect of Bahrain's history and heritage."

The Bahrain championship for the local breed and the Arabian horse of Egyptian breed championship are an extension of the successes achieved by BREEF in organizing various championships, he added.

"They are also in line with our vision to consolidate the Kingdom's position in the horse show championships and the Bahraini owners' ability to compete competently and to enhance their participation in foreign championships."

HH Shaikh Nasser wished success to all stables and owners participating in the championships as well as to the working committees involved in the organization.
